OBITUARY:  BENJAMIN E. Bassett, ex-United States Minister to Hayti.  Physicians attribute his death to heart failure.  Mr. Mallory had just won a suit, which had been pending for a number of years, against his brother, the manager of the Mallory Steamship Company of New York, and came to New Haven for a few days' rest.  He was fifty-nine years old and a widower.
