OBITUARY: BENJAMIN E. MALLORY, well known in
steamship circles in New York and in the South, died suddenly in New
Haven, Conn., last night. Mr. Mallory arrived in New
Haven on Friday and was the guest of Mr. E. D. Bassett,
ex-United States Minister to Hayti. Physicians attribute his
death to heart failure. Mr. Mallory had just won a
suit, which had been pending for a number of years, against his
brother, the manager of the Mallory Steamship Company of New
York, and came to New Haven for a few days' rest. He was
fifty-nine years old and a widower.
