GEORGE M. IRWIN, (Elder) son of
George and Mary (Cowan) Irwin, was born
in Zanesville, O.; received most of his
education at the Wesleyan University, O.;
was raised on farm, and entered the
university as soon as he left college; was
Chaplain of the 44th Ill. Inf.; has been
Presiding Elder of districts in M. E. Church
for some years; was married Sept. 18, 1856,
to Sarah Trump.
Republican; has recently moved to Normal,
Ill.
