Alice "Marie" Dallas
MONTICELLO - Alice "Marie" Dallas, 83, of
Monticello, formerly of Tuscola, passed away 11
a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 1, 2000) in Eastview
Terrace, Sullivan.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in First
Baptist Church, Monticello, with Pastor Darell
D. Seest officiating. Visitation was Friday in
Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola. Burial
will be in Cartwright Cemetery, Tuscola.
Memorials: Sullivan Chapter of Lincolnland
Hospice, Monticello First Baptist Church or
Eastview Terrace, Sullivan.
Mrs. Dallas was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Tuscola,
the daughter of Ivan and Goldie Romine Jacobs.
She was a homemaker and member of the First
Baptist Church of Monticello, Missionary Society
of the church, Piatt County Home Bureau and
Senior Center of Monticello. She enjoyed
quilting and working on crossword puzzles. She
married John William Dallas Dec. 28, 1938, in
Rockville, Ind. He preceded her in death June
29, 1989.
Surviving are her son, John Wayne Dallas of
Sullivan; daughters, Mrs. Larry (Nancy) Hibbard
of Penn Yan, N.Y.; Pam Ernst of Sullivan;
brothers, Joe Jacobs of Charleston; Jerry Jacobs
of Tuscola; sister, Mrs. Everett (Pauline)
Burcham of Decatur; seven grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren and many loving friends and
neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents,
husband and an infant daughter, Marilyn.
