HISTORY
BOURBON COUNTY
was formed on October 17, 1785 from sections of Fayette County,
Virginia, and named after France's royal family in recognition of
French assistance during the Revolutionary War. Bourbon became part
of the new state of Kentucky when it was created in 1792.
