Personalities.
     Messrs S. Laughlin, A. W. Paull
and Master List were in London, England, on 6th inst.
     Mr. Baker, land clerk in the Auditor's office, lett for Winchester on a visit last evening.  Mr. Baker will return next week with his family.
     Mrs. Dr. Wunderlich is visiting friends at Miltonsburg, Ohio.
     Sheriff Geo. Tingle and wife left the city for Berkeley Springs, Thursday evening.
     Hon. John Bassett, of Clarksburg, is registered at the St. James.
     Prof. John Birch, of the Lindsley Institute, returned yesterday from a few weeks' sport in the country.
     Fish Commissioner Miller is at the White Sulphur Springs.
     Major N. Fitzhugh and wife, of Charleston, are stopping at the McLure House.
     Major L. M. Shoemaker, of Richmond, Va., is quartered at the St. James.
     Rev. George T. McClelland will occupy the pulpit of the United Presbyterian Church to-morrow at 10½ A.M. and 7½ P.M.
     Messrs. Gus Johnston and Jake Kemple will talk temperance to the Bellaire people to night.

SHOOTING AFFRAY REPORTED
Special to the Register.
     Mannington, W. Va., May 13 - It was reported here today that John DULIN had shot Bruce CUNNINGHAM in the back, Sunday night near Joetown.  It is alleged a party of young men, of whom CUNNINGHAM was one, was stoning DULIN's horse when the shooting took place.

MAN'S MISTERIOUS SUICIDE
    
Manning, W. Va., May 12 - A man and woman, who said they were respectively L. M. McMILLAN and B. D. HOLLAND of Mobile, Ala., arrived here yesterday.  Accompanied by a driver they went to Joetown.  The woman got out there, the two having quarreled all the way.  McMILLAN then drove to Line, Wetzel County, where, before the driver could prevent, he shot himself dead.  Before expiring McMILLAN murmured: "Mobile! Oh, what an awful trip!"
