TORRINGTON
The town of Torrington was laid out in 1737 and incorporated
Oct. 1740. The Congregational Church was organized Oct. 21,
1741, with Rev. Nathaniel Roberts, pastor. The old records
have been copied with great difficulty. In the History of
Torrington by Orcutt, p. 279, is a copy with which the following
does not altogether agree.
