TIMROD, one of South Carolina's noblest, sons and
sweetest poets, received his collegiate education at the
University of Georgia in the classic City of Athens.

JAMES
MAURICE THOMPSON, at one time a lawyer of Calhoun,
Georgia, wrote many fine stories and was a popular poetic
contributor to several of the literary journals of our country.
He afterwards removed to Indiana.
