Mission Twp. -
CHARLES EUGENE POOLER, farmer and stock-raiser,
section 17, Mission Township, was born in Lake County, Ohio, Apr. 2,
1852, a son of Phineas Pooler, now of Serena Township.
He was reared and educated in Unionville, Ohio. In 1875 he
came to La Salle County, and lived in Serena five years. He
then lived a year in Sheridan and a year in Northville Township, and
in 1883 located on the farm where he now lives. He was married
in March, 1880, to Libbie Spradling,* daughter of
Enoch and
Sarah Spradling. They have one daughter - Hazel Dell,
born in September, 1883. Mr. Pooler is one of the
representative young men of Mission Township. He is not an
aspirant for official honors, preferring the quiet of home life, and
has refused all offices tended him by his fellow citizens.
