P. O. Kickapoo, was born in Germany, Sept. 10, 1833.
Immigrated to America, Jan., 1856, landing in New York, where he
remained for a few years. Then he went to Peoria city, where
he engaged in keeping store and peddling until 1874, when he located
on his present farm of 160 acres, worth $4,500. Was married in
1858 to Elizabeth Meyer, who was born in Prussia in 1831.
They have seven children: Herman, John, Philip, William,
Edward, Elizabeth and Henry. Are members of the
Methodist Episcopal Church.
