farmer, Sec. 11, P. O. Peoria. Mrs. Haller is the
daughter of Jacob and Christina Koerner, nee Grill,
and was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, May 2, 1823. When she was
eight years of age her parents came to America and settled years of
age her parents came to America, and settled at Cincinnati, Ohio.
On the 15th of May, 1842, she united in marriage with Conrad
Haller, a butcher, and remained at Cincinnati until 1850; came
to Illinois and stopped in Peoria until March 1851; then settled on
the present Haller homestead, on which the second cabin in
the township was erected, in 1834, by John L. Wakefield.
They had eight children - Jacob, born Mar.. 10, 1843, died
Feb. 23, 1844; Conrad, born Jan. 20, 1845; Frederick,
born Apr. 19, 1846; Jacob (2) born Jan. 17, 1848, died
June 2, 1849; George, born Jan. 20, 1850; Catharine,
born Oct. 8, 1851; Rosina, born Apr. 11, 1853; Christina,
born Nov. 27, 1855. Mr. H. died Nov. 9, 1855. The
daughters were educated for the profession of teaching, at the
Peoria National School from which they graduated with honors.
The Haller family, parents and children, were raised under
the religious teaching of the German Lutheran Church. The
homestead embraces 160 acres of highly improved land worth $50 per
acre.

Conrad John Haller, Died on Jan. 1, 1924, in Peoria, Peoria Co., IL
aged 78 years 11 mos, 11 days. He was born Jan. 20, 1845 at
Cincinnati, Ohio. He was buried Jan. 4, 1924 in Kickapoo
township, Koerner Cemetery. His father, Conrad Haller was born in
Germany. His mother, Christina Koerner was also born in
Germany.
