Death of Joseph A. Cahill
Mr. Joseph Alovsium Cahill 64 years old, an ex
Confederate soldier, died yesterday at the Confederate
Soldiers' Home at Pikesville. He was born at
Youngstown, Pa., gut resided nearly all his life
in Cumberland, Md. He enlisted in Company F,
Seventh Virginia Cavalry at Winchester, Va. In
1864 Mr. Cahill was transferred to the
quartermasters department and was engaged in the battles
at Romney, Winchester, Kernstown and Fisher Hill.
Mr. Cahill was admitted to the home in 1897.
The funeral will take place from St. Charles' Catholic
Church, Pikesville, this morning Rev. M. J. Riordan
will celebrate a requiem mass, and burial will be
made in the Confederate section in Loudon Park.

Paralysis Proves Fatal.
Mr. August Bartol, an old resident of Cantonsville,
died yesterday morning shortly before 6 o'clock at his
home, on Melrose avenue Mr. Bartol suffered a
stroke of paralysis on the 23d ultimo. The
deceased was 72 years of age. He is survived by a
widow and two daughters. |
